Vivo has launched its new foldable smartphone in China. The company has launched the Vivo X Fold+ 5G, which is its second foldable smartphone this year. Compared to the X Fold 5G, the Fold+ comes with a few incremental upgrades. Vivo has packed a new SoC under the hood. The X Fold+ 5G gets a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, which is based on a 4nm fabrication process.
The X Fold+ 5G also gets faster charging and improvements in the foldable display hinge. Vivo has not revealed its plans to launch the foldable phone outside China. While we wait for that, here’s a quick look at the Vivo X Fold+ 5G price, specifications and other details.

Vivo has launched the X Fold+ 5G in two storage options. The foldable phone’s base model offers 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. It is priced at CNY 9,999 (roughly Rs 1,13,900). There is also a 512GB storage option, which packs 12GB of RAM and is priced at CNY 10,999 (roughly Rs 1,25,300). The phone is available for purchase in China in three colours – Red, Blue and Black
The X Fold+ 5G sports an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with a 2K resolution. The E5 AMOLED panel uses LTPO 3.0 technology to refresh the display between 1Hz and 120Hz. On the outside, there is a 6.53-inch Full HD+ E5 AMOLED display with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone features a 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner on both screens for faster unlocking.
There is a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC at heart. It is paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The phone also packs a 4700mAh battery with 80W fast charging support. It also supports 50W wireless fast charging.
The device runs Android 12-based Origin OS Ocean out of the box. It packs a quad-camera setup on the back. There is a 50MP main camera with OIS support, accompanied by a 48MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP portrait shooter and an 8MP periscope camera with 5x zoom. What are your thoughts on the X Fold+ 5G?
