Vivo X Fold+ 5G Specifications and Features Officially Teased Ahead of Launch

Vivo has teased the launch of the X Fold+ 5G. The new Vivo foldable smartphone will launch soon in China. The launch date of the X Fold+ 5G is unknown at the moment. Meanwhile, Jia Jingdong, Vice President of Vivo, revealed (via) some key specifications of the upcoming foldable.

The Vivo X Fold+ 5G will be the second foldable phone from the company. It will come with some iterative upgrades over the X Fold 5G, which was launched earlier this year. The company is expected to launch the X Fold+ 5G in global markets as well. While we wait for the launch date announcement, here’s a quick look at the Vivo X Fold+ 5G specifications, features and other details known so far.

Vivo X Fold+ 5G Specifications

The Vivo X Fold+ 5G will be the company’s new premium foldable smartphone taking on the likes of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4 5G. The phone is expected to launch soon. Ahead of the launch, the company revealed that the X Fold+ 5G will get a new hinge mechanism. Because of the new hinge, the X Fold+ 5G can be folded and set at different angles, such as 30 degrees, 90 degrees, and 120 degrees.

Jingdong further revealed that the X Fold+ 5G will come with a 120Hz foldable display. The screen has received 19 Display A+ certificates. In addition to this, the foldable screen and the cover display will feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. While Jingdong did not reveal the display size, it is rumoured that the phone will feature an 8.03-inch foldable display and a 6.53-inch cover display.

Under the hood, the foldable phone will feature the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It will come with a bigger 4730 mAh battery and support 80W fast charging. The phone will also support 50W wireless charging.

Jingdong further revealed that the phone has Zeiss-tuned cameras with a T* coating. According to leaks, there will be a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP portrait camera sensor and an 8MP periscope camera. The foldable device is also confirmed to launch in a new Red colour option as well.
