Vivo launched its first foldable phone, the X Fold, earlier this year in China. The new Vivo foldable phone featured a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and an 8.03-inch foldable display. Vivo is said to upgrade the foldable phone with some new hardware later this year. The company has not confirmed any details officially but a new leak stated that the Vivo X Fold S will launch very soon.
Tipster Digital Chat Station, who has a reputation for accurate leaks, revealed (via) that the foldable phone will launch in China very soon. The tipster also revealed some key specifications of the upcoming foldable phone. Let’s take a look at the Vivo X Fold S specifications, features and other details known so far.
Vivo X Fold S Launch Imminent, Specifications Tipped
Vivo is expected to refresh its foldable phone lineup with the launch of the X Fold S later this month. The launch date is unknown at the moment. While we wait for the official launch details, a new leak by Digital Chat Station reveals that the phone will come with an upgraded Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood. In comparison, the X Fold featured a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
The new foldable phone will also pack a slightly larger battery. According to Digital Chat Station, the X Fold S will pack a 4,700mAh battery as opposed to the 4,600mAh battery in the predecessor model. The X Fold S will also come with support for faster charging. The tipster noted that the S variant of the Vivo foldable phone will support 80W fast charging.
The X Fold S will sport the same design as the original model. The display and camera specs are also likely to remain the same. In that case, the X Fold S will sport an 8.03-inch foldable AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support. There will be a 6.53-inch Full HD+ AMOLED cover display with 120Hz refresh rate support.
The device will feature a quad-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultrawide camera, a 12MP telephoto camera and an 8MP periscope camera. It will have a 16MP front camera.
