Vivo X90 series is expected to launch soon in India. The company will launch the X90 and X90 Pro, which were unveiled in global markets earlier this year. The X90 Pro Plus 5G, which is currently exclusive to China, is unlikely to launch in India. Vivo is yet to confirm the official launch date of the X90 series. While we wait for that, a new leak has revealed some details about the next-generation X series flagship phones from Vivo. The upcoming top-end Vivo flagship might be called the X100 Pro Plus 5G.

The device will debut as a successor to the X90 Pro Plus 5G in China. It is expected to launch in the second half of 2023. Months ahead of the debut, a new leak has revealed the alleged camera details of the X100 Pro Plus. Let’s take a look at the Vivo X100 Pro Plus 5G specifications, features and other details known so far.

Vivo X100 Pro Plus Camera: What is Known So Far

The Vivo X100 Pro Plus will be the next-generation top-end smartphone from the company. Its camera specs have leaked ahead of the launch. The report by TechGoing, citing a Weibo post by tipster Panda is Bald, has revealed the specs of the X100 Pro Plus 5G.

The tipster claimed that the upcoming Vivo X series flagship phone in China will offer support for a variable aperture. The feature will allow users to manually adjust the aperture of the main camera to control the amount of light hitting the sensor. We have seen the tech being added to some smartphones years ago. However, the feature did not pick up well in the industry and was soon replaced by phone cameras with a fixed aperture mostly ranging between f1/.5 and f/1.8.

The report also revealed that the X100 Pro Plus 5G will have an ultra-wide free-form surface lens, which will allow for wider and clearer shots. There will also be a feature called the portrait micro-cloud platform that seems to use advanced algorithms to create stunning portrait shots with exceptional detail and clarity.

Vivo will feature a periscope camera lens for an enhanced zoom camera performance, especially in low light. There will be a new V3 ISP packed inside the phone, which will help boost the camera performance.

The report did not specify the camera sensor details. It would not be a surprise if the X100 Pro Plus continues to feature a 1-inch camera sensor, which is currently the biggest smartphone camera sensor found in devices worldwide.

The X90 Pro Plus, which is yet to make it to global markets, has a 50MP 1-inch Sony IMX989 main camera sensor. The quad-camera setup also features a 48MP Sony IMX598 ultrawide sensor, a 50MP Sony IMX758 f/1.6 portrait sensor and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B40 telephoto camera with up to 100x digital zoom.

The handset sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution display. There is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood and a 4,700mAh battery. The phone supports 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. You can click here to know more about the same.
