Vivo X21s, a revamped edition of the Vivo X21, sports an in-display fingerprint scanner and a teardrop notch, reveals a leaked image of the device. The capable smartphone fits in the mid-range segment, indicates the leaked info.
Vivo launched a capable and good-looking mid-range Android smartphone, the Vivo X21, earlier this year. The smartphone sported a rectangular notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Incidentally, there was another variant with an in-display scanner as well. Now the company is steadily moving towards a miniscule and significantly more beautiful teardrop notch, as well as an in-display fingerprint scanner. Hence the Vivo X21 seems to have received the relevant cosmetic makeover, and could soon launch as Vivo X21s. A leaked image of a retail box clearly indicates the new name and the design parameters.
Vivo X21 Receives A Design Refresh But Maintains The Same Mid-Range Specifications
There are quite a few contradictory reports about the alleged Vivo X21s floating around on the internet. The information is sketchy partly because Vivo is yet to officially acknowledge the existence of the variant. The fact that images of retail packaging of the device have begun to surface strongly indicate Vivo is deep into the final stages of development of the device.
A few reports claim the Vivo X21s will have the same specifications as that of the base variant of the Vivo X21. But instead of the rectangular notch and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, the Vivo X21s will have an in-display scanner and a teardrop notch. Meanwhile, other reports indicate Vivo has embedded a slightly larger 6.41-inch AMOLED display in the X21s instead of the 6.28-inch display that’s on the X21.
The larger display seems logical because several smartphone makers are now embedding larger displays in their newly launched devices. The recently launched OnePlus 6T too, sports a 6.41-inch Optic AMOLED display.
The rest of the specifications, including Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 with new and powerful Artificial Intelligence Engine (AIE), 6GB RAM, 128GB internal memory, dual rear cameras, and 3,300mAh battery, could remain identical to the X21. Incidentally, the battery does support 18W Fast Charging.
Vivo X21s Launch, Price, Availability
The leaked image of the retail packaging clearly indicates Vivo is ready with the Vivo X21s. The original Vivo X21 sported a powerful 12MP + 5MP dual camera setup on the back and a large 25MP front-facing camera that was appreciated by regular selfie takers. Hence it is quite likely that a similar smartphone with a better appearance would be surely appreciated.
Numerous reports strongly indicate the Vivo X21s would launch within the next two weeks, while some smartphone enthusiasts even go ahead and claim the Vivo handset will launch on November 15. As for pricing, the Vivo X21s could sport a price tag of CNY 2,798, which roughly translates to INR 29,500.
The Vivo X21 is currently selling for Rs. 31,990 in the ongoing Flipkart Big Diwali Sale in India, instead of its usual retail price of Rs. 36,990. Hence the slightly lower price of the Vivo X21s would certainly work in the device’s favor.
