Vivo has launched a new smartphone – the X50 Lite – in Australia today. The X50 Lite is a rebranded Vivo S1 Pro, a smartphone that made its debut in May 2019 in China and then launched in India this January. Later on, the S1 Pro was launched as Vivo V17 and Vivo Y9s in various countries. And now it has arrived as the X50 Lite in Australia. Here are all its details.

The Vivo X50 Lite comes in only one memory configuration in Australia, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. And it costs AUD 499 in the country. The phone is readily available to purchase in the region through an online retailer dubbed JB Hi-Fi.

For our Indian audience, the X50 Lite, which sells under the S1 Pro moniker in India, costs INR 18,999 for the same 8GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. The phone is available to purchase in the country from various online stores including Amazon, Croma, and Flipkart. The S1 Pro can also be purchased through Vivo’s authorized local stores.

Powering the Vivo X50 Lite is the Snapdragon 665 SoC, which has an 11nm manufacturing process, 4x 2.0GHz Kryo 260 Gold CPU cores, 4x 1.8GHz Kryo 260 Silver CPU cores, and Adreno 610 GPU. It is available with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration. On the software front, the device has Android 9 Pie with Funtouch 9.2 customization. It is a shame that it doesn’t feature the Android 10 OS, something that even smartphones that cost half of what X50 Lite costs, offer.

Coming to the imaging department, the phone has a quad-camera setup at the rear that features a 48MP primary camera, 8MP ultrawide camera, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. Even though the X50 Lite is a mid-range smartphone, its rear camera setup does not offer a 4K video recording option. It can only record Full HD videos. Anyway, as for the selfies, you get a 32MP shooter capable of recording Full HD videos.

The phone is backed by a 4500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging. There is a USB Type-C port for charging and transferring data. Connectivity options of the device include dual-SIM support with 4G LTE, VoLTE, and VoWiFi, Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The device is available in Nebula Blue and Jade Black color options. Both of these color variants have a gradient color pattern on the back panel.
