Vivo X60 series tipped to come with Virtual RAM features; live images of Pro+ model leak

Vivo will launch the Vivo X60 series on March 25. Ahead of the launch, a key feature of the flagship smartphone series has leaked online.

The upcoming X60 series will come with a feature called Virtual RAM. The feature was first reported by Moneycontrol, which states that all three Vivo smartphones will come with the smart RAM management feature.

The feature will provide an additional 3GB of virtual RAM by borrowing it from the phone’s internal memory. This means that if the phone has 8GB of physical RAM, the feature will consume another 3GB of RAM from the internal storage if required. The feature will help in providing a better user experience. With more RAM, apps are unlikely to shut or freeze in the background. It is unknown how the feature will work when the device’s internal storage is close to being full.

The report also includes more live images of the Vivo X60 Pro+ model. Earlier today, tipster Ishan Agarwal leaked an image of the device’s Navy Blue colour. The Pro+ model will come with a Vegan Leather finish on the back. The report states that Vivo will only launch the Deep Sea Blue colour option. The Classic Orange variant will not launch in India.

The images also confirm that the X60 Pro+ will come with a quad-camera setup on the back. It is likely to pack the same camera internals as the Chinese variant. Vivo has partnered with camera lenses manufacturer Zeiss for the X60 series. The Vivo X60 Pro+ and the X60 Pro come with an improved Gimbal camera technology for enhanced stabilisation while recording videos. It will also feature a T* anti-reflective coating to avoid any ghosting or glare that can be seen while shooting objects in line with the sun or any harsh lighting.

The camera module also features a 32MP portrait lens with a 50mm focal length. Lastly, there is an 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and 60x digital zoom. For selfies, there is a 32MP selfie shooter with an f/2.45 aperture.

Under the hood, it comes with a Snapdragon 888 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It packs a 4,200mAh battery with 55W fast charging support. The phone runs on Android 11 with OriginOS 1.0 on top of it.
