Vivo is gearing up for the launch of the X80 series in China. The company will announce at least two new Vivo smartphones under the X80 series later today. These include the vanilla X80 and the X80 Pro. There are rumours of the X80 Pro+ model making its debut today. However, the recent teasers and leaks suggest otherwise. Meanwhile, Vivo has confirmed the launch of the X80 series global launch.

The company will launch the Vivo X80 series in the global market on May 8. The devices are expected to launch in India during the same month. Vivo has not yet announced the launch details of the X80 series in India at the moment. Vivo X80 Series Global Launch

Vivo will launch the X80 series globally on May 8. The global launch date has been confirmed hours before the debut of the devices in China on April 25. The specifications and features of the global models have leaked in the past.

According to the leaked details, both smartphones, the X80 and X80 Pro will sport a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. While the vanilla model will come with a Full HD+ display, the Pro model will feature support for a 2K LTPO panel.

Under the hood, the Pro model’s global variant will come with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, whereas the vanilla model will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC. In terms of battery capacity, the Pro model will pack a 4,700mAh battery with 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging support. The vanilla X80 will come with a 4500 mAh battery and support 80W fast charging as well.

There will be a different set of camera sensors on the two models. The X80 Pro will come with a quad-camera setup on the back. It is rumoured to feature a 50MP Samsung GN5 1/1.3” main camera along with a 48MP ultrawide camera. The X80 Pro will also come with a 12MP 2x portrait camera and an 8MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom.

The vanilla model will feature a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera along with a 16MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP portrait camera. Both phones will run Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 outside China.
