Vivo is all set to launch two new devices soon in its popular flagship X series in India. The company will launch the Vivo X80 series in India, featuring the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro. The phones have already launched in China earlier this month. The X series has always been notable for Vivo as it packs the latest processors, new camera technologies, a refreshing design, unique camera layouts, fast charging, and much more. Vivo has introduced a new Vivo V1+ chip for the Vivo X80 series, which is a custom imaging processor from the brand. While the official pricing is under wrap for the moment, here’s what to expect from the Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro.

Vivo X80 Series: Launch Date, Event Time, Where to Watch It Live

Vivo will launch the successor of the X70 series, the X80 Series in India on May 18 at 12:00 PM. The company will unveil the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro at the event. It will be a virtual launch event that will be streamed on Vivo’s Youtube and social media platforms.

Vivo X80 Series: Expected Price in India

The Vivo X80 series will have two phones – Vivo X80 and X80 Pro. The Vivo X80 Pro starts at CNY 5499 in China, which is around Rs 64,350 and the Vivo X80 starts at CNY 3699, which is around Rs 43,300. So, we can speculate that the vanilla variant might launch in India between Rs 50k – Rs 55k, and the Vivo X80 Pro to be priced at Rs 70k – Rs 75k. That said, Vivo will announce the Indian price of the Vivo X80 series pricing on May 18.

Vivo X80 Series: Expected Sale Date

The Vivo X80 Series will be launched on May 18 in India. The flipkart listing has confirmed that the phones will be sold via Flipkart and Vivo’s official website. We can expect the Vivo X80 and X80 Pro to go on sale within a week of launch in India. All the sale details and offers will be unveiled on the day of the launch of the devices.

The Vivo X80 series has already been launched in China and all the specifications of both the devices are well known. We speculate that the Indian variant will have similar specifications.

120Hz AMOLED Display

Vivo X80 Pro

The Vivo X80 and Vivo X80 Pro sport a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED display with support of up to 120Hz refresh rate. The major difference between the two phones’ displays is that the Pro version comes with a QHD+ screen resolution while the vanilla variant has a Full HD+ screen only. The X80 Pro display comes with support for up to 1500 nits of brightness, 10-bit colors, and HDR10+ content while the vanilla X80 can go up to 1000 nits of brightness.

Customised V1+ Chip

The Vivo X80 series phones feature a customised Vivo V1+ chip under the hood. It is a homegrown chip from Vivo that aids in photography, videography and power efficiency. It is a successor of the Vivo V1 chip that was packed in the X70 series. The company claims that the chip will help in improving the photography and videography prowess of the devices, sustain the gaming performance, and will consume less power. 50MP Rear Camera Setup Powered by ZEISS Technology

The Vivo X80 and X80 Pro features a 50MP camera setup on its back that is engineered by ZEISS optics. The Vivo X80 Pro comes with a quad rear camera setup while the vanilla variant has a triple rear camera setup. All the cameras are housed in a reflective rectangular camera module. On the front, both devices feature a 32MP selfie camera placed in a center punch hole.

The Vivo X80 Pro comes with a quad rear camera with a 50MP (f/1.57, OIS) GNV main camera, a 48MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide lens, a 12MP (f/1.85)portrait camera, and an 8MP ( f/3.4, OIS) telephoto lens.

The Vivo X80 features a 50MP (f/1.75, OIS) main camera, a 12MP(f/2.0) ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 12MP (f/1.98) telephoto lens. The phone supports up to 20x digital zoom.

Other Features

The Vivo X80 series handsets are packed with a lot of specifications, The Vivo X80 Pro features a 4,700mAh battery unit with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. On the other hand, the vanilla X80 packs a 4,500mAh battery unit with 80W wired charging only. There is no support for wireless charging in the vanilla variant. The Vivo X80 is powered by Mediatek Dimensity 9000 SoC and will be the first device in India to pack this chipset. On the other hand, Vivo is launching the Pro version of the phone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Both phones will pack up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Both the devices will boot on Android 12 based FunTouch OS 12 skin out of the box.
