Vivo X90 5G Spotted on Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) Website; Expected to Launch Soon

Vivo X90 series is expected to launch soon in India. The company has already launched its new flagship smartphones in China. The lineup comprises three new premium smartphones. These include the X90, X90 Pro and X90 Pro+ 5G. The X90 sits at the bottom of the lineup. It is expected to arrive alongside the Pro and Pro+ siblings early next year in India. The launch could take place soon as the Vivo X90 has been spotted on the Bureau of Indian Standards website.

The listing on the BIS website reveals the mode number of the global variant of the X90 5G. Let’s take a look at the Vivo X90 specifications, features and other details.

Vivo X90 India Launch Soon

The Vivo X90 will be an entry-level flagship smartphone in the upcoming X-series lineup. The company is yet to confirm the official launch date. The device could arrive in January or February 2023 in India. While we wait for some official confirmation, the X90 has been spotted on the BIS website. The device has the model number V2218.

The BIS listing does not reveal any other details of the Vivo X90. However, since the phone has already been launched in China, we expect it to launch in India with the same set of hardware.

In that case, the X90 will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1280×2800-pixel resolution. The screen is curved and sports a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. It comes with support for a 120Hz refresh rate. 

On the back, there is a circular camera module, which houses a triple-camera setup. The phone comes with a 50MP Sony IMX866 main camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP portrait lens with 2x optical zoom. The primary camera supports optical image stabilisation (OIS). For selfies, the phone features a 32MP front camera.

The X90 draws power from a MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC. It packs 8GB/ 12GB RAM options in China and offers up to 256GB of internal storage. We can expect the same for the Indian market. The device also packs a 4,810mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. It will run Android 13 out of the box and have a layer of Funtouch OS 13 on top in India.
