Vivo is rumoured to launch the X90 series soon. The Chinese tech giant could soon launch the X90, X90 Pro and X90 Pro Plus 5G in China. According to rumours, the X90 series could debut by December 2022. Vivo has dropped a new teaser, revealing the alleged design of the X90 Pro+ 5G. The device will sit at the top of the X90 series lineup and come with flagship hardware.
The teaser image shines some light on the rear panel design. The phone will launch in a red colour option, with possibly faux leather materials. We can also see the circular camera module sitting on top of the rear panel. There is also a thin horizontal strip running across the rear panel with the “Xtreme Imagination” text above the Vivo and Zeiss branding.

Live images of the Vivo X90 Pro+ 5G have leaked hours after the company officially dropped the teaser, suggesting an imminent launch of the flagship. The image reveals the circular camera module resting on the rear panel in red. It also shows the Zeiss branding on the right side, above which sits the LED flash module.
The front of the device could sport a curved AMOLED display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. We can expect the phone to sport thin bezels on all sides around the display.
Some details of the X90 Pro+ have leaked in the past. The X90 Pro+ 5G is said to feature the new 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch camera sensor, which is also found in the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. The upcoming Xiaomi 13 Pro is also likely to feature the same sensor. Vivo will also launch the phone with a 50MP portrait sensor and a 64MP OmniVision OV64B telephoto camera sensor, according to rumours. The telephoto camera will capture 16MP images using 3-exposure staggered HDR and 4-in-1 pixel binning. The camera setup is also likely to offer support for Dolby Vision for shooting, editing, and viewing, which is also found in the iPhone 14.
Complementing the camera sensors will be the new V2 chip, which is Vivo’s custom ISP for enhancing the camera performance in low light and portrait mode.
The phone is also said to feature the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC under the hood. It will feature a 6.78-inch Super AMOLED display with up to 120Hz refresh rate support. Vivo is likely to pack a 5000mAh battery under the hood along with support for up to 100W fast charging out of the box.
The X90 series is also said to feature a Dimensity 9200 SoC, which was launched on November 8. The new MediaTek flagship SoC could be a part of the vanilla X90. More details of the X90 series should surface online in the coming weeks. We will share more details as and when available.
