Vivo, a few days ago, launched the Vivo Y02 smartphone in Indonesia. The company has now silently launched the Vivo Y02 in the Indian market. The Vivo Y02 is an entry-level smartphone and is aimed at first-time smartphone buyers. It comes pre-loaded with Android 12 (Go Edition) and offers a large display. The latest Y-series smartphone from Vivo is powered by an octa-core processor and a 5000mAh battery.

The Vivo Y02 offers an 8MP camera setup and features a flat-edge design. The smartphone makes use of a Type-C port and features a fingerprint-resistant design. Vivo’s latest Y-series smartphone will take on the likes of Redmi 10A, Realme C33, and Moto e32s. The Vivo Y02 comes in a 3GB + 32GB configuration and is priced at Rs 8,999. It is available for purchase exclusively via the Vivo India store in the country.

The Vivo Y02 features an IPS LCD display panel with an HD+ (1600 × 720 pixel) resolution that measures 6.5 inches. It is a 20:9 aspect ratio panel that features a waterdrop notch. The display panel has a huge chin at the bottom but that’s expected considering it’s an entry-level handset.

The latest Y-series smartphone, under the hood, sports an octa-core processor. Vivo has not revealed the exact processor details but the previous leaks suggest that it could be powered by a MediaTek Helio P22 processor. The Helio P22 is quite an old processor and we have seen it in several smartphones such as Xiaomi Redmi 6, Samsung Galaxy M01s, and Nokia 2.4.

The all-new Vivo Y02 comes equipped with an 8MP rear shooter (f/2.0 aperture) and an LED flash. It makes use of a 5MP front shooter (f/2.2 aperture) for video calls and selfies. It comes paired with 32GB of internal storage and 3GB of RAM. Users also get an option to expand the storage further via the (dedicated) microSD card slot. The smartphone boots FunTouchOS 12, based on Android 12 Go Edition.

The latest Y-series smartphone is backed by a 5000mAh battery unit and 10W fast charging support. It relies on a Type-C port for charging and data transfers. The smartphone has been equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack. The Vivo Y02 lacks the fingerprint scanner but it supports the face unlock feature.

The Vivo Y02 comes in two colour options – Cosmic Grey and Orchid Blue. It measures 163.99 × 75.63 × 8.49mm and weighs 186 grams. Connectivity options of the handset include Dual-SIM, 4G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, Galileo, Glonass, and BeiDou.
