Chinese smartphone major Vivo has announced the launch of a brand new entry-level handset in India. The new device is a part of the company’s Y-Series lineup and is known as the Vivo Y11 (2019). First unveiled two months ago in Vietnam, the Y11 (2019) is now on sale in India. Vivo has made the phone available via Vivo’s own store, various e-commerce platforms as well as offline stores across India. The Vivo Y11 (2019) comes in a single 3GB RAM + 32GB version that has been priced at INR 8,990. Apart from Vivo’s own e-store, the phone is available via Amazon, Paytm Mall, Tata Cliq and Bajaj’s EMI E-Store. You can also buy the phone from Vivo’s authorised dealers across the country. On Flipkart, the phone will be on sale starting December 28. As of now, the phone comes in two colour options; mineral Blue and Agate Red.

Being an entry-level handset, the Vivo Y11 (2019) comes powered by the entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC. This entry-level Soc is based on a 12nm manufacturing process and packs four Cortex-A53 cores mated to four high-performance Cortex-A53 cores. The graphics are handled by the Adreno 505 GPU. The display on the Vivo Y11 measures 6.35-inches across and happens to be an LCD panel with a resolution of 720 x 1544 pixels.
The Vivo Y11 (2019) boasts of a dual-camera setup at the rear consisting of a 13MP primary f/2.2 camera and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor mated to an f/2.4 lens. At the front, the phone gets an 8MP selfie camera. The primary camera supports PDAF, HDR photos and a lot of AI features including a versatile beauty mode.
Powering the Vivo Y11 (2019) is a large 5,000 mAh battery that should offer great battery life. The phone supports 4G LTE networks and comes with plenty of connectivity options including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, USB OTG, and a 3.5mm jack. The phone is quite heavy at 190g and also gets a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
The Y11 (2019) has been launched in a segment that includes competing devices like the Realme 5 and the Redmi 8, all of which are priced very similarly and offer relatively better specs. It remains to be seen if consumers will choose this phone over these two popular devices.
