Vivo Y12 and Y15 Get a Price Cut in India, Here’re the Latest Prices, Key Specs You Need to Know

As we inch towards the end of the year, brands are getting rid of their existing stock to make way for the new devices. In the latest round, Chinese manufacturer Vivo has dropped the price of its budget Y12 and Y15 smartphones to attract consumers. As tweeted by popular retailer Mahesh Telecom, starting from November 11, the Vivo Y12 3 GB RAM variant featuring 64 GB internal storage will be sold for Rs 9,990. Launched in July, the handset was introduced for Rs 11,990. Similarly, the price of Vivo Y15‘s sole 4 GB RAM variant has been slashed from Rs 13,990 to Rs 11,990. That’s quite a competitive pricing. However, most users are going to be put off by the fact that both these handsets are powered by MediaTek chips. If you are planning to buy any of these handsets, do check out its list of features:

Vivo Y12 Specifications

The Y12 has a reflective back with a gradient paint job. The phone features a fingerprint sensor at its back. It features a 6.3-inch HD+ display. The Y12 has thin bezels and a tiny notch on the forehead to accommodate the selfie camera. At the back, you get a triple camera setup in 13 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP configuration. For selfies, there’s an 8 MP front-facing shooter. At the heart of the handset is the MediaTek Helio P22 chipset. This particular model comes with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage.

The phone covers essential connectivity features such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, micro-USB port, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The device holds a large 5,000 mAh battery. On the software front, the Y12 runs Android 9 Pie with Vivo’s Funtouch OS on top.

Vivo Y15 Specifications

The Vivo Y15 looks a lot like the Y12. In addition to a similar design, you also get the same gradient hues. Even the 6.3-inch HD+ display on the Y15 is exactly what we get on its younger sibling. The screen has a small waterdrop notch at the top. Vivo should have gone for a Full HD+ display at this price point.

Vivo focuses a lot on the selfie cameras and the Vivo V15 is not an exception. It boasts of a 16 MP front-shooter with F/2.0 sensor. Moving around to the back, you get a triple camera. It comprises of a 13 MP primary lens, an 8 MP wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor. At max settings, the phone can record Full HD video at 30 fps.

The phone is powered by MediaTek’s Helio P22 chipset. This 12 nm chip packs in eight cores and PowerVR GE8320 GPU. In India, the Vivo Y15 is only available in 4 GB RAM version with 64 GB of internal storage. Other features include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, and a 3.5 mm audio jack. The phone packs-in a 5,000 mAh battery. However, there’s no fast-charging support.
