Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone in Hong Kong. The company has unveiled the Vivo Y16 as its new 4G smartphone. The Y16 sports a fairly identical design to the Vivo Y35, which was announced recently. It has a flat frame design with curved corners and a rectangular camera module on the back. The phone has two large cutouts, which house the dual-camera setup.

The phone comes in two colour options as well. Vivo might launch the Y16 in India and other markets in the coming days. Let’s take a look at the Vivo Y16 specifications, features and other details.

Vivo Y16 4G Announced 

Vivo has unveiled the Y16 4G as its new budget smartphone. the Y16 comes in a single  4GB RAM option along with 128GB of internal storage. The company has kept the pricing details of the phone under wraps at the time of writing this. It has, however, announced the specifications and features of the phone.

The Y16 comes in two colours – Stellar Black and Drizzling Gold. It measures 163.95×75.55×8.19mm. The phone has a polycarbonate frame and back. It weighs about 183 grams.

Vivo has launched the phone with a MediaTek Helio P35 SoC. The fairly-old, entry-level chipset is paired with 4GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. It also supports Extended RAM 2.0 and offers 1GB of additional virtual RAM. The Y16 comes with a dedicated slot for storage expansion using a microSD card. There is a 5000 mAh battery packed inside the phone. It supports 10W charging via a USB Type-C port.

The Y16 4G runs Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box. It has a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a water-drop notch on top for the 5MP front camera. The chin bezel around the display is fairly thick. 

On the back, there is a dual-camera setup with a 13MP main camera. The phone also has a 2MP secondary sensor. It supports dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.
