Vivo is gearing up for the launch of the Y35 4G. The new Y-series smartphone will launch in Malaysia on August 11. The company is also rumoured to launch another smartphone in the Y-series very soon, which is the Vivo Y16. The device will be a budget smartphone and come with 4G network support.
Vivo is yet to announce the official launch date of the phone. Ahead of the official confirmation, a new report by Appuals has revealed the Y16’s design renders and specifications. The report reveals that the phone has a dual-camera setup on the back. It also sports a flat frame with curved corners. Vivo Y16 4G has already received the FCC and Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification, suggesting an imminent launch. The phone will come in two colours – Black and Gold. It will sport a flat frame design with slightly curved corners. There is a dual-camera setup on the back. The camera module has two large cutouts, which house the 13MP primary camera and a 2MP secondary sensor. There is also an LED flash module. The phone will come with support for multiple camera features, such as live photos, time-lapse, face beauty, Pro mode, etc.
At the front, there is a 6.51-inch IPS LCD. The screen has a tiny waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera. It will offer an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels. The screen will also support a standard 60Hz refresh rate display. For selfies and video calls, the phone will come with a 5MP front camera.
Under the hood, the Y16 has a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC. It will launch with 4GB of RAM and 64GB/ 128GB of internal storage. The phone will support storage expansion via a microSD card slot. It will also come with features like Extended RAM 2.0, Multi Turbo 2.2, and Ultra Game Mode.
There will be a 5000 mAh battery packed inside. The phone will support 10W charging via a USB Type-C port. It comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a dual-SIM slot, etc. The Y16 boots Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box. It measures 163.95 x 75.55 x 8.19mm and weighs 183 grams.
