Vivo launched the Vivo Y19 earlier this month in Thailand. After a series of leaks and rumors about the price and specifications of the device, the company has finally launched it in India. Turns out that all the leaks were indeed legitimate. So far, only the 4GB variant of the Vivo Y19 has made its way to the country, but we can expect the 6GB counterpart to arrive in the future as the same has got launched in Thailand as well. Let’s get to know everything about the Vivo Y19.
Vivo Y19 Price
The 4GB/128GB variant of the Vivo Y19 is kept at an asking price of INR 13,990 in India. So far, there is no word on the availability and price of the other memory variants of the device.
Vivo Y19 Specifications and Features
Starting things off with the display of the device, the Vivo Y19 features a 6.53-inch full-HD+ display which gives out a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and a tall 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The aspect ratio is because of the fact that the Vivo Y19 features a waterdrop notch at the top of the display. The FHD+ display of the device makes sure that we get crisp visuals and a decent 394 pixels per inch density also solidifies the theory.
There is a considerable amount of chin at the bottom of the device. Nevertheless, the Vivo Y19 achieves a screen-to-body ratio of 90.3% which is pretty decent considering the price point the device is being offered at.
The device measures 162.15 x 76.47 x 8.89mm and weighs in at 193 grams. As far as the color variants of the device are concerned, the Vivo Y19 comes in two colors in India – Magnetic Blue and Spring White.
Powering the Vivo Y19 is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P65 chipset which is backed up by 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. If that much storage does not suffice your needs, you can beef it up all the way up to 256GB with the help of an external SD card.
On the software side, the Vivo Y19 runs on Android 9 Pie out of the box with the company’s proprietary FunTouchOS 2.0 baked on top of it. As is the case with the other Vivo smartphones, the Vivo Y19 has features like Multi-Turbo and Game Space.
For biometrics, the Vivo Y19 relies on a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Furthermore, there is scope for facial unlock with the help of the Vivo Y19’s front camera.
Speaking of cameras, the Vivo Y19 has a triple camera setup at the back (16MP primary camera + 8MP ultra-wide lens + 2MP depth sensor). At the front, we get a 16MP selfie snapper which is embedded underneath the waterdrop notch.
Fueling the Vivo Y19 is a massive 5,000mAh battery which has support for up to 18W fast charging. Sadly, the charging port is still a microUSB port which is a bummer considering that there are other devices in the same price range that are offering a USB Type-C charging port. For all its worth, a 3.5mm headphone jack is present in the Vivo Y19.
