
The Vivo Y31s (t1 version) has been launched in China, and keeping in line with the Y31 series, the latest smartphone is an interesting mid-budget range device that brings 5G connectivity at a very attractive price point. The device features a design language that is quite similar to what Vivo has been offering of late, including a smooth, gradient finish on the rear, and a waterdrop notch at the front. While it remains unclear if the Y31s (t1 version) would be launched in India or other global markets outside of China, it does offer an indication of the growth of affordable 5G smartphones.
Vivo Y31s (t1 version): price in China
The Vivo Y31s (t1 version) has been launched in a single variant in China. The device costs CNY 1,399 (approx. Rs 16,000), and will be available in two colour variants – Lake Light Blue and Titanium Grey.
Key specs
The Vivo Y31s (t1 version) features the MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC, paired with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and 64GB UFS 2.1 storage. It also has a dedicated microSD slot for storage expansion. It features a 6.51-inch HD+ IPS LCD display at the front, with 20:9 aspect ratio. There’s a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a waterdrop notch for the front camera. In terms of the software, the Y31s (t1 version) will seemingly feature OriginOS 1.0, based on Android 11.
To the front, users will get an 8MP selfie snapper, while to the rear, there is a 13MP dual camera setup along with an LED flash. The device further gets a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging, and in terms of connectivity, it gets a USB-C port, a 3.5mm audio jack, 5G, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.1. The overall specifications sum up a mid-budget range smartphone which is set to make 5G connectivity even more affordable from the hardware point of view.
As a result, it will be interesting to see if Vivo markets the device in markets outside China as well – possibly under a different name.
