Vivo might be working on the launch of a new Y-series smartphone. The Chinese smartphone giant is likely to launch the new Y36 4G as its new budget smartphone in various markets. Vivo has not confirmed the launch date of the upcoming Y36 4G. However, the launch seems imminent as the smartphone has been spotted on the NBTC and Google Play Certification websites. The Y36 4G has been spotted on multiple certification websites already.
The new NBTC listing confirms the moniker of the phone and reveals its model number as well. Let’s take a look at the Vivo Y36 4G specifications, features and other details known so far.
Vivo Y36 4G NBTC, Google Play Certification Listing Hints at an Imminent Launch
The Vivo Y36 4G will be one of the upcoming budget smartphone offerings from the company. It is expected to launch soon in multiple markets. The listing on the NBTC certification website reveals that the Y36 4G has the model number V2247. The listing also confirms the official moniker of the phone. The same was confirmed via the Google Play Certification listing.
The device was recently spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website. It revealed that the device runs Bluetooth 5.0. In addition to this, the Y36 4G was also spotted on the Geekbench website, which confirmed its key performance unit details. The phone is said to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 SoC, which has a peak clock speed of 2.4GHz. It also features an Adreno 610 GPU. There have been rumours of the phone featuring a MediaTek Helio G99 SoC as well. However, the Geekbench listing says otherwise. The Y36 4G was listed with 8GB of RAM. We can expect Vivo to launch the phone with at least 128GB of storage.
The Y36 4G will run Android 13 out of the box. Depending on the region of its launch, it will launch with Origin OS 3 or Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android.
Other details of the Y36 4G have leaked in the past as well. The phone is said to feature a tall 6.8-inch IPS LCD panel. Since it is a budget offering, we would not be surprised if there is a waterdrop notch at the top of the display for the front camera. The phone is also likely to offer a 60Hz refresh rate support.
On the back, the phone will feature a 50MP main camera sensor. Details about the other rear camera sensors or the front camera are unknown at the moment. The Y36 4G is also said to pack a beefy 5000mAh battery and offer 44W fast charging support out of the box.
Vivo is said to launch the phone in India in May. The device is said to be priced between Rs 18,000 and Rs 20,000 in India.
