The Vivo Y51A has received a new variant in India, which comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and is priced more affordably than its 8GB counterpart. The launch essentially adds a new RAM variant to the mid-range that so far was offered in only one RAM and storage variant. All the other specifications remain exactly the same as before, and the new 6GB RAM variant of the Vivo Y51A will be available for buyers in the same Titanium Sapphire and Crystal Symphony colour shades as announced before. The mid-range smartphone was originally introduced in India in January, and adds the new variant about five months after its initial introduction in the country.
Vivo Y51A: price in India
The 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant of the Vivo Y51A will be available in India at Rs 16,990. The previously existing 8GB variant remains on sale at Rs 17,990, as of now. Vivo has announced that the 6GB variant will be available on the Vivo India store, but other store availability is not announced as yet.
Key specs
The Vivo Y51A is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 SoC, with 128GB storage in both the RAM variants. It features a 6.58-inch full HD+ LCD display, in an 8.8mm body weighing 188 grams. To the rear, it features a 48MP triple camera setup, with 8MP ultra-wide and 2MP macro units. The front features a drop notch with a 16MP selfie camera.
The smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The smartphone is available in its two above-mentioned colour shades in both the RAM variants, while the difference in availability between the two RAM modules may be a factory for buyers to choose.
The Vivo Y51A continues to be a 4G only smartphone, in a segment where more sellers are introducing 5G devices even in the mid-range price category. Standard connectivity features, such as a microSD slot, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5 and USB-C are also a part of the Y51A feature set.
