Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone. The company has launched the Vivo Y55 4G in Vietnam as its new mid-range smartphone. The Y55 might arrive later this year in India and other markets. Vivo has not confirmed any details regarding the same.

Vivo has launched the Y55 4G in Vietnam. The smartphone arrives in a single 8GB + 128GB storage option and two colours. The device is priced at VND 6,990,000 (roughly Rs 23,200). It comes in two colours – Black Star and Snow White.

The Y55 4G comes with a 6.44-inch Full HD+ display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The AMOLED display has a 180Hz touch sampling rate and supports the DCI-P3 colour gamut. It has a waterdrop notch at the top for the front camera and a thick chin bezel.
On the back, there is a rectangular camera module. The phone has a dual-camera setup with a 50MP main camera. There is a 2MP depth sensor as well. For selfies and video calls, the Y55 4G has a 16MP front camera sensor.
Under the hood, the device draws power from a Snapdragon 680 SoC. It comes with 8GB of RAM and 4GB of virtual RAM support, which is drawn from the 128GB of internal storage. There is support for memory expansion using a microSD card slot.
The device packs a 5000 mAh battery. It supports 44W fast charging out of the box. Software-wise, the phone runs Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box. The phone comes with an in-display fingerprint scanner and face unlock. It also supports dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, etc. The phone has a 3.5mm headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. It weighs 182 grams and is 8.42mm thick.
