Vivo has launched a new Y-series smartphone in Malaysia. The Y76 is the latest 5G smartphone from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. The device is different from the Y76s, which was launched earlier this month in China. However, both smartphones share a similar design language. The Y76 has a tiny waterdrop notch at the top of the display. It also has a rectangular-shaped camera module on the back with two large circular cutouts. The new Y76 seems to be a 5G smartphone for the global market. It comes with a MediaTek processor under the hood. There is no word on the device’s India launch date. Vivo Y76 price
Vivo Y76 launched in Malaysia comes in a single 8GB RAM configuration with 128GB of internal storage and is priced at MYR 1,299 (roughly Rs 23,000). It comes in two colours – Midnight Space and Cosmic Aurora. Vivo has not announced its plans to launch the Y76 in other markets at the time of writing this.

The Y76 is a mid-range smartphone offering 5G network support. It comes with a MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC under the hood. The performance unit includes 8GB of RAM. Vivo is also offering virtual RAM support of up to 4GB, which is borrowed from the device’s 128GB Internal storage. The device packs a 4,100 mAh battery and also supports 44W fast charging.
It sports a 6.58-inch IPS LCD with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2408 pixels. The screen’s notch houses a 16MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The device has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a screen with a peak brightness of 460 nits.
On the back, there is a triple-camera setup. It has a 50MP primary camera sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. The device also has a 2MP depth sensor and a 2MP macro camera. Vivo’s new 5G smartphone runs Android 11-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box. It comes with connectivity options like 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, USB-C, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, etc. The device also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner with support for AI face unlock.
