Vivo Y81 and Vivo Y71i Price Cut
Both the Vivo Y81 and the Y71i are relatively new smartphones. The former was launched in June 2018, whereas the latter was announced just two months ago. Nevertheless, Vivo is known to release a new phone every few months and to make room for the new, it slashes prices on the older ones. While these two phones are not really old, Vivo believes it is necessary to provide options for the consumer. Therefore, these phones are now seeing a new price across online and offline retailers.
Thanks to a tweet by Mahesh Telecom, who is known to provide accurate pricing for smartphones, we now know the new pricing for the Vivo Y81 and the Y71i. Both these devices are budget devices, which means that they were already being sold at a good price. Now, the Vivo Y81 will be sold for a discounted price of INR 10,990 for the base variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The 4GB RAM+64GB ROM variant is available for INR 12,490. Prior to the price cut, the base variant was sold for INR 13,990, whereas the 4GB RAM version was priced at INR 14,990.
Coming to the Vivo Y71i, this is a budget phone which was being sold for INR 9,990 before the price cut. Vivo is now selling this phone for INR 7,990 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. If you want more savings over this, you can get additional INR 1,000 cashback when you pay with Bajaj Finserv EMI card and 5 percent cashback with HDFC Credit cards. These offers are only applicable online at Vivo store. Flipkart has additional offers such as 10 percent with Axis Bank Buzz Credit card. This is a permanent price cut, so you won’t have to worry about the offer coming to an end.
As we stated earlier, the company will soon launch the Vivo Y91i in India, which is why we have these price cuts.
Vivo Y91i Key Features and Expected Price
The Vivo Y91i is a rebranded Y93 that is already available in China, but with different RAM+storage configuration. This phone comes with a 6.22-inch HD+ display with a 19:9 aspect ratio and a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the Snapdragon 439 chipset which is paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage. There’s a dual-camera setup at the back with 13MP+2MP sensors and an 8MP unit at the front. The device has AI portrait mode, AR stickers, AI beautification and other software enhancements. A large 4030mAh battery is available and it runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with FunTouch UI on top. To keep costs low, the phone lacks a fingerprint sensor, but does get Face unlock.
We expect Vivo to price the Y91i at around INR 11,990, which is a good price for a phone in this range. The device will face tough competition from the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, Realme U1, Realme 2 Pro, and many others.
