Vivo will bring the Vivo Y95, a good-looking and affordable Android smartphone to the Indian shores on November 26. The budget-focused smartphone sports the beautiful ‘Halo’ waterdrop notch display, dual rear camera setup, a large 4030mAh battery, and other features.
Vivo recently launched the Vivo Y95, which is yet another Android handset in the Y Series. We have been closely following the interesting smartphone, and had earlier reported about the leaked promotional images and the retail box of the device. Surprisingly, Vivo opted for a rather muted launch of the Y95. The company made the Vivo Y95 official in the Philippines. Now the Chinese smartphone company is bringing the Android handset to India, and it will reportedly have an attractive price. Let us look at the important aspects of the Vivo Y95 like the launch, price, availability, specifications and features before the device is expected to arrive.
Vivo Y95 India Launch, Price In India
The Vivo Y95 launched in the Philippines in two color options: Starry Black and Aurora Red color options. The Android handset is already up for purchase in the Philippines via online and offline retail channels.
The Vivo Y95 launched with a price tag of HP 13,999, which roughly translates to INR 19,000. The price is valid for the single variant which comes with 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. Buyers do not get the in-display fingerprint scanner that Vivo is increasingly deploying in its mid-range smartphones. Instead, there’s a standard rear mounted fingerprint scanner. The scanner appears rather rectangular in appearance, and Vivo has placed the same near the upper side on the back of the device, besides the vertically stacked rear camera setup.
The Vivo Y95 could sport a surprisingly lower price of INR 16,990 when it officially arrives next week. Neither the price, nor the launch date, has been corroborated. Apparently, one of the retail partners that work with Vivo, revealed the information. Interestingly, Vivo was supposedly planning to launch the Vivo Y95 in India with an even lower price tag. Given the specifications and competition, smartphone enthusiasts expected the device to launch under INR 15,000. But Vivo adjusted the price owing to the variations between U.S. Dollar and Indian Rupee.
Vivo Y95 Specifications, Features
The Vivo Y95 is a great looking device that features a 6.22-inch FullView display with a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. It has a waterdrop/halo notch that houses front camera and other sensors.
Vivo has embedded a rather low-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 octa-core processor, which works with Adreno 505 GPU, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of internal storage. AI features on the Vivo Y95 includes AI Game mode and Vivo’s AI assistant named Jovi AI. The AI assistant is capable of running quick searches for fetching information on the weather forecast, upcoming events, and more.
The device packs a 13MP + 2MP dual camera setup on the back, and has a large 20MP camera on the front. The camera on the Vivo Y95 also has Google Lens integration. This allows users to get information about landmarks and objects using their camera app.
The Vivo smartphone does get a large 4,030mAh battery. It runs on 8.1 Oreo-based FunTouch OS 4.5. The phone measures 155.11 x 75.09 x 8.28 mm, and weighs 163 grams.
