A couple of days ago, Vivo announced that it will soon launch the Z1 Pro smartphone in the Indian market and that it will go on sale through Flipkart. Along with it, the brand also gave an overview of the Z1 Pro saying that it will have a long battery backup, a punch-hole display, and an AI-assisted triple camera at the rear. Well, today, the brand has revealed a few key specifications of the Z1 Pro through a dedicated page of the device on Flipkart. According to the page, the Z1 Pro will feature the Snapdragon 712 SoC, Multi Turbo, Game Mode, a 5000mAh battery with 18W fast charging, and a 32MP in-display front-facing camera.
Earlier, the Vivo Z1 Pro was expected to a rebranded version of the Vivo Z5x. However, the Vivo Z5x has the Snapdragon 710 SoC, and now Vivo has revealed that the Z1 Pro will have Snapdragon 712 chipset, which means the Z1 Pro is not the Z5x, but a slightly different device. The Vivo Z1 Pro is expected to come with a price tag of INR 15,000, and if it turns out to be true, the Z1 Pro will be a strong contender under INR 15,000, giving a tough competition to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro and the recently launched Realme 3 Pro. Vivo has not yet revealed the India launch date for the Z1 Pro, but expect it to launch by the end of this month.
Vivo Z1 Pro Could Be the First Smartphone in India to Feature the Snapdragon 712 SoC
Currently, no smartphone in the Indian market has the Snapdragon 712 SoC, which means that the Vivo Z1 Pro will be the first device to feature this chipset. The Snapdragon 712 is made on 10nm fabrication process, and the chipset has eight Kryo 360 CPU cores and Adreno 616 GPU. Just so you know, the Snapdragon 712 is a slightly enhanced version of the Snapdragon 710; you can expect a marginal performance bump with the Snapdragon 712 compared to the Snapdragon 710.
What About Multi Turbo and Game Mode? What Do They Do?
The Multi Turbo feature tunes the SoC to churn out higher performance and maintain lower SoC temperatures to avoid thermal throttling. The Game Mode, as you might expect, shows all your games in one place and blocks notifications while playing games. The Game Mode also has a Game Countdown feature, and a Voice Changer – this is something that game modes on other smartphones don’t offer.
Vivo Z1 Pro Could Have the Best Battery Backup in Its Segment
There are smartphones under INR 15,000 that have a 5000mAh battery, but their chipsets are made on either 12nm or 14nm fabrication process, which means they are not as power efficient as the 10nm based Snapdragon 712 in the Z1 Pro. Therefore, compared to the other smartphone with a 5000mAh battery, the Z1 Pro might have a better battery backup. That coupled with the 18W fast charging feature should make for an even better battery life experience.
Vivo Z1 Pro Could Be the Most Affordable Smartphone with A Punch Hole Display
Currently, no smartphone under INR 15,000 has a punch-hole display; most of them feature a V-shaped or a U-shaped notch. The cheapest smartphone in the Indian market to feature a punch-hole display is the Galaxy M40, which costs INR 19,990. If the Vivo Z1 Pro launches with its expected price of INR 15,000, it will be the most affordable smartphone with a punch-hole display.
