Vivo has extended its Z series of phones, a line that bridges the gap between its flagships and mid-range offerings, by unveiling the Vivo Z3 in China. The phone comes in two variants with different Qualcomm Snapdragon chipsets depending on the storage capacity you go for. This is a rather unusual move, but considering that it has enabled the OEM to keep the price of the base variant low, it makes sense.
Vivo Z3 Up For Pre-orders in China, Sale Begins On November 1
The phone can now be pre-ordered in China and it will hit retail stores on November 1. The company hasn’t said anything about an international launch so we will have to wait and see how things pan out. The phone is available in three beautiful colors: Dream Powder, Aurora Blue, and Starry Night. The Snapdragon 670-powered variant with 4GB of RAM and 6GB of internal storage is pitched at Rs. 16,959. The other two variants are fueled by the Snapdragon 710 SoC and cost Rs. 20,143 (6GB RAM and 64GB Storage) and Rs. 24,388 (6GB RAM and 128GB Storage).
Apart From The Camera, There Is Little To Complain About In The Specifications Department
Despite its low price, the Vivo Z3 is quite a looker, with a huge 6.3-inch FHD+ display with a resolution of 2280×1080 and a waterdrop notch. The screen has an aspect ratio of 19:9 and offers a screen to body ratio of nearly 90.3 percent.
The phone also features Vivo’s Dual-Turbo engine which boosts the system and gaming performance, resulting in an improved gaming experience. The game loading speed and application fluency is increased considerably. The gaming experience is made more immersive by the inclusion of the 4D smart shock technology that analyzes various gaming scenarios in real time and provides appropriate shock feedback.
The phone has a 12MP selfie camera, housed in the notch obviously, and the AI backed camera comes with various beauty modes. There is also a smart rear dual camera system at the back (16MP+2MP) that uses AI learning to identify a variety of scenes and adjust shooting parameters accordingly, resulting in better pictures.
The Vivo Z3 packs in a 3315mAh battery and supports Vivo’s dual engine fast charging, enabling you to top up your battery quickly. For security and authentication, the phone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner as well as Infrared face unlocking technology that even works in low light settings. Vivo’s Jovi smart assistance is also a part of the package. The phone runs FunTouch OS 4.5 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo.
Apart from the camera specs, which we would have expected to be a little better, the Vivo Z3 seems like a well-rounded phone for its price range. As stated above, the phone is now available on Vivo’s online store.
