Vodafone India has introduced a new INR 119 prepaid plan for multiple circles. The new recharge plan is limited to select prepaid users currently, but will reportedly turn into an open market plan. The INR 119 prepaid plan is bundled with 1GB of data benefit along with unlimited calling. This plan does not include any SMS benefits. In another news, Vodafone silently hiked the price of its annual prepaid plan by INR 200. The plan debuted at INR 1,499, and now it will be available at INR 1,699.
Vodafone 119 Prepaid Plan
The INR 119 plan by Vodafone India is limited to select users for now. It is limited to 4G circles. The plan has unlimited calling benefit without any cap as Vodafone recently revoked the FUP on it. To recall, the telco recently launched an INR 169 prepaid plan that features unlimited voice calling, 1GB of daily data for 28 days along with 100 SMS per day. It’s worth noting that the INR 169 plan is a repriced INR 159 prepaid plan.
Vodafone’s INR 169 prepaid plan loses the comparison battle with Reliance Jio’s INR 149 prepaid plan. Jio offers unlimited voice calling benefit along with 100 SMS daily and 1GB of data per day for 28 days. Bharti Airtel also has an INR 169 plan that is similar to Vodafone’s plan.
Talking about its recent launches, Vodafone India introduced a range of new data plans starting at INR 209. One of the plans offers 1.6GB daily data at INR 209 for 28 days while the other plan also provides 1.6GB daily data but for a validity period of 84 days.
Vodafone Annual Plan Will Cost More
The telecom sector in India is currently trending with the entry of a slew of annual plans by different telcos. Right from Jio to Airtel, every telco has one or two annual plans to cater to their subscribers. Vodafone India is also a part of the trend with its annual plan. The telco launched this plan at INR 1,499 however the pricing has now been increased by INR 200. The plan is now available at an increased price of INR 1,699.
This annual prepaid plan from Vodafone comes with a validity period of 365 days. It offers unlimited local, STD and roaming calls with 1GB of daily data and 100 SMS per day benefit. Although the price of the plan has been increased, it still offers the same benefits and nothing new has been added to it by the telco to make up for the price hike. With this move, Vodafone India has made itself even with the other telcos such as Jio and BSNL who are offering their annual plans at INR 1,699. Earlier, Vodafone had the cheapest plan but now it has increased the price to play it even with the other telcos. Of course, no telco would settle on such arrangement at the expense of losing out on profits which is why Vodafone increased the price of the plan by INR 200.
