How to Check Status of New Voter ID Application

If you have applied for a Voter ID card, you can easily check for the status of your application easily via the National Voter Services Portal. All you need to do is follow these steps:

  1. Go to https://www.nvsp.in/ and click on Register as a new user.
  2. Now, enter your mobile number, captcha code and click on Send OTP. Enter the OTP number to verify your mobile number.
  3. Once done, enter the reference number, email, and create a password of your choice. Click on Register.
  4. Now log in using your email address and newly-created password. You will be taken to the home screen. Search for Track Application Status.
  5. Enter the reference ID for your voter ID application and click on Track Status to check for your application.

How to Download New and Duplicate Voter ID Card PDF Copy Online

The Election Commission has recently announced that individuals can now download their voter ID card virtually. Also known as e-EPIC (Electronic Electoral Photo Identity Card), the electronic version of a voter ID card is a non-editable PDF file that is the same as the physical voter ID card. The e-EPIC is the electronic version of the voter card and is equally valid as a proof of identity. Furthermore, one can also take a printout of the e-EPIC and store it on DigiLocker as well. However, it is important to note that individuals who have applied for a new Voter ID card from November 2020 are only eligible to download the e-EPIC from the portal. So, here’s how you can do that:

  1. Go to https://www.nvsp.in/ website and log in using your email address and password.
  2. Now, click on Download e-EPC and enter the EPIC number or form reference number.
  3. Select the State and click on Search. You will see the voter ID card details. Now, simply follow the on-screen instructions and download your virtual voter ID card.
