‘Apple Watch for Kids’ is now available in India. This feature was introduced in 2020 and is finally available in India. With this, parents can give their children an Apple Watch and manage and track them using their iPhones.

What Is Apple Watch for Kids?
Apple Watch for Kids is a special mode available on the watch. This allows the watch to be set up as an independent device, giving children an easy way to call and text their parents.
A parent’s iPhone manages an Apple Watch that is set up using the feature. Children can make and receive calls through their Apple Watch, but they will have access only to the contacts approved by their parents. Parents can also track their children’s live locations using the Find My app on their iPhones. They can also set up to receive notifications when their children arrive at or leave a location, such as School.
SchoolTime mode helps kids focus in school and at home. It is like the Do Not Disturb mode in Apple Watch: Access to apps remains restricted, and only basic features are accessible. Parents can schedule SchoolTime mode from their iPhones and turn it on from the Apple Watch control centre.
The emergency SOS feature enables children to quickly access emergency services and contact their parents after holding down the digital crown in emergencies. Pre-existing medical conditions, allergies, medical ID, and more can also be saved to the Apple Watch.
The ‘Apple Watch for Kids’ feature also brings workout modes specifically tuned for children to give appropriate credits compared to adult workouts. Children can install child-friendly apps from the App Store directly from the Watch. Parents get the option to manage the type of content that can be downloaded and also “Ask to Buy” to pay for paid apps. There are also lots of children-specific watch faces available with Kids mode.
Apple Watch for Kids is accessible through Jio in India. To enable the feature, the Apple Watch must have a cellular connection using an eSIM from Jio.
