Blurring the lines between fashion and technology, Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses offer a discreet way to capture life's moments without pulling out a phone. With built-in cameras and voice support, they're designed to complement daily life while keeping users engaged in the present.
Though these smart glasses have been available internationally, Indian consumers have had to wait. That wait is now coming to an end—Meta is officially bringing its Ray-Ban smart glasses to India. Here's a closer look at what they bring to the table.
Breaking Down the Features of Meta's Ray-Ban Smart Glasses
Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses are built with one goal in mind: to let you engage with the world around you, without constantly reaching for your phone. With the Meta AI integration, users can ask questions, get real-time information, translate text, or scan QR codes.
Equipped with a 12MP ultra-wide camera and a five-microphone array, the glasses can capture high-quality content and support smooth audio input for video calls. You can effortlessly transition between using your phone and the glasses, making multitasking more natural.
For audio, the open-ear speaker design offers rich bass and impressive volume, even in challenging environments like busy streets or windy days.
These smart glasses support up to four hours of use on a single charge and come with a compact charging case for easy recharging on the go.
The experience is tied together with the Meta View app, which lets users manage their glasses, pair multiple devices, and access content in one convenient place.
What's New in the Meta Ray-Ban Smart Glasses
Meta has just unveiled exciting updates to the Skyler collection, introducing a wider range of frame and lens colour options. For those who love the bold, cat-eye style, the Skyler Shiny Chalky Gray paired with Transitions Sapphire lenses is a standout choice.
For a more classic look, the Skyler Shiny Black frames are available with either G15 Green lenses or Clear lenses, offering a sleek and sophisticated appearance.
There's also a big update coming to the software. Here's what to expect:
- The live translation feature is now available everywhere. If you’re in a country where you don’t speak the language or need to ask for directions, these glasses will help. They can translate conversations in English, French, Italian, and Spanish without needing Wi-Fi, as long as you've downloaded the language pack beforehand.
- Soon, you'll be able to send messages, photos, and even make calls through Instagram directly from your glasses. This feature works alongside the ability to make calls and send texts on WhatsApp, Messenger, or your phone's native messaging app. Just ask, "Hey Meta, send a message to XYZ on Instagram."
- Meta is also bringing music apps like Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, and Shazam to more countries. Now, you can ask Meta AI to play your favourite music, as long as English is your default language.
- Lastly, Meta AI will soon be able to converse with you through your Ray-Ban Meta glasses, seeing what you see and responding on a personalised level.
The pricing for India hasn’t been revealed yet. But don’t worry — keep an eye on MySmartPrice, and we’ll share all the details as soon as we know more.
