How to Set UPI Pin Using Aadhaar Card

Earlier, a user had to enter Debit card details to make a UPI account, but thanks to NPCI, you can now set it by entering your Aadhar card details and an OTP. Here’s how to do that.

Step 1: Download any UPI-enabled app such as Google Pay, Paytm on your phone and sign in using your phone number that is linked to your bank account.

Step 2: Select your bank and a message will be sent to match the account. Now, tap on the bank account and choose Set UPI PIN.

Step 3: The app will show you two options - Debit card and Aadhaar. Choose Aadhaar and tap on Accept.

Step 4: Now, enter the first six digits of your Aadhaar card number and tap on Confirm button.

Step 5: To verify the Aadhar number, UIDAI will send an OTP which you have to enter. Once validated, you can make the UPI PIN.

Currently, only a limited number of banks support the Aadhar enabled UPI setup. These are Canara Bank, Central bank of India, Cosmos Cooperative Bank, IndusInd Bank,

Kerala Gramin Bank, Karnataka Gramin Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Punjab Sind Bank, Rajasthan Cooperative Bank, Suryoday Small Finance Bank Ltd, and UCO Bank.
