Infinix Smart 8HD Review: Should You Buy in 10 Points

Shubham Raheja

The Smart 8HD is unapologetic about taking obvious design and functional cues from the iPhones, blatantly calling the design ‘iPhonic’.

Design

The Smart 8HD has a fast 90Hz display, even though it is not full HD+. Colours and angles are okay, but the brightness is good.

Display

The smartphone performs well with the MediaTek Helio G88 SoC ticking inside. The phone stays cool, and handles Google Maps smoothly with 3GB RAM remembering recent apps.

Performance

The Smart 8HD uses Android 13 Go with Infinix’s XOS 13 skin—clean interface with a few extras like themes, app store, and Visha player.

UI

There are many pleasant surprises about the Smart 8HD’s cameras. It can auto-detect a scene and apply HDR on harshly backlit scenarios. These two things alone make it stand out among a sea of budget phones.

Camera

The Smart 8HD can easily go beyond a day’s worth of use given its low-power processor and LCD screen. In our tests, it had a screen-on time of about seven hours.

Battery

The Smart 8HD features a good camera, a fast display, a fuss-free interface, and more importantly, respectable performance – at a price that does not require buyers to break the bank.

Verdict

- Fast display - Decent performance - Long battery life - Good daylight photos - Intuitive UI

What is Good?

- Lacks fast charging - Magic Ring could have been utilised better - No 4G carrier aggregation

What is Bad?

- Redmi A2+ - Moto G14 4G
