Motorola Edge 20 Fusion

 First Impressions

Motorola has announced the Edge 20 and Edge 20 Fusion for India, that include specs and features that are at par or even better than their rivals.

At 185 grams, the Moto Edge 20 Fusion feels lightweight, with a non-unibody design and a soft touch matte plastic finish at the back. Curiously missing is the iconic dimple at the back. It's just the batwing logo now.

The Edge 20 Fusion features a 6.7-inch FHD+ 10-bit OLED display with 90Hz refresh rate, and is one of the best in this segment. The improvement is clearly visible with accurate white point, and DCI-P3 support.

90Hz refresh rate on Stock Android feels smooth, and there are 8 of the iconic Moto gestures including the twist to launch camera, and chop to turn on the torch. There's also Moto's version of Samsung Dex called Ready For, which can be used to mirror the phone on a PC.

We noticed the 108MP camera reproduces natural colours and images look quite sharp. The facial tones are fairly neutral as well, and the ultrawide and macro cameras do a fairly good job. There are also a bunch of extra shooting modes.

The Edge 20 Fusion runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 800U which is in the same league as the Snapdragon 750G, but gets outperformed by the Snapdragon 768G and the Snapdragon 860. You get up to 8GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.2 storage.

The Edge 20 Fusion felt plenty fast and we could play games like CoD: Mobile at Medium graphics and High FPS without a problem. BGMI can do Smooth/Ultra or HD/High which is par for the course.

The Edge 20 Fusion features a 5000mAh battery with Moto's TurboPower 30 fast charging solution. The phone comes with support for 13 5G bands in India.

The Edge 20 series could be a turning point for Moto in India. The Edge 20 Fusion, especially, has a lot of grit and determination to bring the fight to the current market leaders.
