Mukesh Ambani at AGM 2021 announced the JioPhone Next in collaboration with Google. The JioPhone Next 4G will be available in India starting from September 10th.
JioPhone Next will run a special version of Android OS which will offer features like voice assistant support and language translation.
The device will also offer features like automatic read-aloud of screen text, a smart camera with augmented reality filters, and much more. It will also have Google Play Store access.
JioPhone Next will have an HD+ display with a resolution of 1440x720. It will have power button and volume rocker keys will be located on right side.
It will be powered by Snapdragon 215 which is over two years old chipset. For reference, the Snapdragon 215 uses ARM’s Cortex A53 cores and can clock up to 1.3GHz.
It will have a 13MP camera on the back and an 8MP camera on the front. It will be able to capture clearer photos in low light with Night Mode and will have a wider dynamic range with HDR mode.
JioPhone Next runs on the Android Go version of Android 11. It has Go versions of popular Android apps pre-installed.and it has an unlockable bootloader.
The JioPhone Next is expected to launch under Rs 5,000 in India. It will be available for sale from September 10.
