Sony WH-1000XM5 Review Highlights

Robin John

Sony WH-1000XM5 has a similar design to its predecessor. The in-hand feel and build quality is good but lacks premiumness. They are fine for wearing. There is no water resistance.

Design

The Headphones Connect app for XM5 looks decent. It has a bunch of features that let you customise your headphones. You can also use any 3rd party app to customise them.

App Support

The XM5 have excellent noise cancellation compared to all previous generations. Besides that, they come with ambient mode, DSEE Extreme mode, 360 Reality Audio, and more.

Features

The sound quality sees a drastic change, with the XM5 focusing more on vocals and trebles. Our music playback experience was great on these headphones.

Sound Quality

Sony claims that the WH-1000XM5 can last for 30 hours which we exactly got during our usage. They took 45 minutes to charge from 0 to 90% via a USB Type-C cable.

Battery

At Rs 29,990, the Sony WH-1000XM5 are the best headphones we’ve ever used. However, we feel that WH-1000XM4 are still value for money headphones for as low as Rs 19,000.
