Valve has announced the Steam Deck, its Nintendo Switch-like handheld gaming device.

It syncs your Steam library with the device, using the Remote Play feature so you can play any AAA title on the handheld device.

You can use 2 thumbsticks, 2 small trackpads, ABXY buttons, and a D-pad. Or, dock it to a big display.

Steam Deck features a 7-inch 1280 x 800 touchscreen for 720p gameplay. It has gyroscope, 2 triggers and 4 back buttons.

Steam Deck has a 40 watt-hour battery. Light games can be played for 7-8 hours. Valve claimed Portal 2 can be played for 4 hours at 60FPS.

It runs on a custom AMD APU containing a quad-core Zen 2 CPU with eight compute units worth of AMD RDNA 2 graphics, alongside 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM.

Steam Deck will be available in 3 storage tiers: 64GB eMMC storage for $399, 256GB NVMe SSD storage for $529, and 512GB of high-speed NVMe SSD storage for $649.There's no word on the India launch yet.
