Until Dawn Remake Review: Should You Buy in 10 Points?
Robin John
Until Dawn Remake out now on PS5 is the best example of your actions having consequences. Originally launched for the PS4 back in 2015, the game gets a remake with better visuals, smoother gameplay, and a lot of jumpscares.
Introduction
Introduction
What makes Until Dawn interesting is the interactive decisions and QTEs, giving the story multiple outcomes. Should you buy? Read this review.
Pricing in India:
Unlike other remakes like Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us Remastered II, Until Dawn will charge you the full price even if you own the older version. The game will cost you Rs 3,999 on PS5 and PC.
What’s New?
The most obvious changes come in the form of visual upgrades. Rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5, Until Dawn looks fantastic and as per 2024 standards. The character models along with the snowy and eerie environment get a makeover.
The game also gets a new ending, and a couple of totems. That said, these changes do not amount to a massive makeover, the amazing graphics are what play a bigger part.
Graphics and Gameplay
Voice acting still remains top-notch, with crisper audio. And, with the new models, it’s easier to recognise Rami Malek. Facial expressions are more profound and natural.
Lighting effects have also been improved, making it appear more realistic than the older version. But, player movements still appear quite janky and slow, sometimes annoying you during nail-biting scenes.
The core of the gameplay remains the same at large. Interactive decisions, Quick-time Events (QTE), and of course, the Butterfly Effect. Any decision you take can majorly affect the storyline, and in some situations, cause the life of some characters. This makes Until Dawn a gripping experience.
Until Dawn is like a classic horror movie from the 90s, turned into a game. The story revolves around a bunch of friends who visit a cabin in the woods for a fun getaway. You play as each character, taking different decisions that will make or break the story.
Story
As the night progresses, and you wait for ’dawn’, things start to unravel, ultimately putting the entire group into a make or break situation. While the story is a bit cliche, it can sometimes get quite unpredictable depending on the choices you make.
DualSense Support
Until Dawn Remake gets full DualSense support with excellent haptic feedback and adaptive triggers which elevates the whole gaming experience, especially during important decisions are to be made.
Verdict
