
Xiaomi has launched a new variant of the Mi Notebook 15.6-inch Youth Edition today, on October 22 in China. It is the white color variant of the laptop that was announced last month in the country along with the Mi Smart Alarm Clock. The new laptop is now available for pre-order in China from JD.com and can be purchased in the country.
Compared to the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Pro, the Mi Notebook Youth Edition is priced CNY 1,000 lower. Its RAM can be upgraded, too, unlike the Mi Notebook Pro. The laptop comes with a 15.6-inch screen, the latest generation Intel Core i5 quad-core processor, and a dedicated GPU from Nvidia.
Mi Notebook 15.6-Inch Youth Edition Laptop Makes Debut in White
The white variant of the Mi Notebook Youth Edition is priced at CNY 4,499 in China, which translates to USD 649 or INR 48,116. It is available for pre-order through Chinese e-commerce store JD.com starting 10 AM CST today. The sale will commence in a few days, but the actual date hasn’t been announced yet by Xiaomi or JD.com. The laptop is also available in Dark Grey color, if you’re not too happy to see the white one.

The Mi Notebook 15.6-inch Youth Edition laptop features a 15.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels), 250 nits brightness, and anti-glare coating. If you were hoping for a touchscreen, you’re in for a disappointment since this laptop lacks the feature. The Mi Notebook 15.6-inch Youth Edition runs Windows 10 and comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office Home & Student Edition 2016. The laptop is equipped with an 8th Gen. Intel Core i5-8250U quad-core CPU with 6MB of cache memory, a maximum clock speed of 3.4GHz and a base frequency of 1.6GHz. The laptop also features Nvidia GeForce MX110 GPU with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM. There’s 8GB of DDR4 2400MHz RAM (expandable up to 32GB), 128GB SSD, and a 1TB mechanical hard disk drive.
The laptop weighs 2.18kg, has 19.9mm thick body, and it has a metal lid cover. The Mi Notebook 15.6-inch Youth Edition laptop has a full-sized backlit keyboard (with a number pad) and a multitouch trackpad with support for gestures. There’s a 1.3MP webcam for video calls, dual-3W stereo speakers, and Dolby Audio. There’s dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n/ac, wireless screen mirroring through Miracast, Bluetooth 4.1, two USB 3.0 ports, one USB 2.0 port, a gigabit ethernet port, 3.5mm headphone jack, a full-sized HDMI port, and a 3-in-1 SD card reader. The laptop comes packed with a 40 watt-hour battery and a 65W power adapter that is provided for charging. The laptop’s cooling solution includes two fans, two heat pipes, and dual exhausts.
