The Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G is set to launch in India soon, and now, ahead of its launch, MySmartPrice has learnt that the upcoming smartphone will feature Netflix’s Dolby Vision certification on its retail box, in a bid to stand out from the competition. Industry sources have confirmed to MySmartPrice that such a certification will indeed be present on the retail box of the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G, which as per global specifications is already confirmed to sport a Dolby Vision certified display with 10-bit colour depth, 100 percent sRGB colour gamut coverage and more.
It is interesting to note that with this, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G may become the first smartphone that features an officially Netflix certified display. The video content streaming giant already certifies televisions that meet certain specifications to be able to play HDR and Dolby Vision content on Netflix, and this certification works as a way for TV manufacturers to market their product, and for users to use this certification as a minimum benchmark of sorts. While smartphones have long features displays that support Dolby Vision, 10-bit colour, HDR10 and more, they have so far not delved into the certification business. With the upcoming 11 Lite NE 5G, all of this may change, making it the first Netflix certified smartphone display in the business.
In terms of key specifications, the Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G processor. The 6.55-inch display on the smartphone will feature an AMOLED panel, and bear 20:9, full HD+ screen resolution. The display comes with Dolby Vision and HDR10+ certification, along with supporting 10-bit colour depth. It bears a 5,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and in terms of colour gamut coverage, supports both 100 percent sRGB and DCI-P3 colour gamuts. It will also support 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone has also been confirmed to feature 12 5G bands previously, by MySmartPrice.
To the rear, the smartphone features a 64MP triple rear camera with an 8MP ultra-wide unit and a 5MP tele-macro unit. The camera setup can record up to 4K videos at 30fps, and full HD videos at 60fps. To the front, the device features a 20MP camera, while the setup is powered by a 4,250mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Interestingly, the upcoming Xiaomi 11 Lite NE 5G sounds absolutely identical to the upcoming Xiaomi CIVI series phones that are now rumoured to launch in China next week. It is likely that the two devices are rebranded versions of each other, targeted at global and Chinese markets, respectively.
