Xiaomi 12 series is now officially launced in China as the latest flagship phone from the brand. The series consists of three phones 一 Xiaomi 12 Pro, Xiaomi 12, and Xiaomi 12X. As you can guess by the name, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is the top of the line flagship phone packing in all the bells and whistles, while the vanilla Xiaomi 12 is the middle child in the series, and lastly, the Xiaomi 12X is an affordable flagship phone. During the event, the company also announced MIUI 13 officially. Let’s take a look at the trio in detail.
Xiaomi 12 Pro, 12, 12X Price and Availability
The Xiaomi 12 series comes in three variants 一 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, and 12GB + 256GB. The Xiaomi 12 Pro starts at CNY 4,699 for the base variant and goes up to CNY 5,399 for the 12GB RAM variant. The vanilla Xiaomi 12 starts at CNY 3,699 and goes up to CNY 4,399 for the top of the line variant. Lastly, the Xiaomi 12X, the most affordable in the line will start at CNY 3,199 and goes up to CNY 3,799.

Xiaomi 12 Pro
The Xiaomi 12 Pro flagship phone sports a 6.73-inch 2K+ E5 AMOLED display with a 3200 × 1440 resolution, 1500nits brightness. It has an LTPO 2.0 panel that lets the display switch dynamically between 1Hz and 120Hz. The display is curved o the sides and sports a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. The phone is HDR10+ and Dolby Vision certified as well. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB internal storage.
In terms of camera capabilities, the 12 Pro packs in a triple camera setup, which is led by a 50MP Sony IMX 707 main lens with OIS, 1/1.28-inch sensor size, a 50MP telephoto camera and a 50MP Ultra-Wide angle lens with 115-degree FoV. For selfies, the phone comes with a 32MP snapper on the front. The device packs in a 4,600mAh battery with support for a whopping 120W wired fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging. The phone weighs 205 grams and measures 8.16mm.
Other features of the device include an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, dual front-firing speakers with harman Kardon, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, Display Mate A+ rating, and all three devices boot Android 12 based on MIUI 13.
The vanilla Xiaomi 12 comes with a smaller 6.28-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and a 120Hz screen refresh rate. The phone offers support for HDR10+ certification and Dolby Vision content. The front of the phone is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Like the Pro model, the Xiaomi 12 also packs Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, up to 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone houses a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charge support and 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charge support.
In terms of optics, the smartphone sports a 50MP main sensor (Sony IMX 766) with OIS and 1/1.28-inch sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a 123-degree field of view, and a tele-macro lens. For selfies, the phone offers a 32MP camera on the front. Other features include a dual speaker with harman Kardon audio and support for Dolby Atmos, 1100 nits brightness, 12-bit OLED panel, A+ rating by DisplayMate, 5G network support, vapour cooling system, Wi-Fi 6, NFC, 180-gram weight, cyber focus mode for the camera, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The Xiaomi 12 is available in Blue, Grey, Black, and Green colour options.
The most affordable of the trio, the Xiaomi 12X flaunts a 120Hz 6.28-inch AMOLED screen with Full HD+ resolution. It is powered by Snapdragon 870 5G SoC, up to 12GB RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The 12X packs in a 4,500mAh battery with 67W wired charging support.
In the camera department, the Xiaomi 12X is backed by a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP tele-macro camera. For selfies, the device comes with a 32MP snapper. Apart from the chipset, wireless charging capabilities, the rest of the specs are the same as the Xiaomi 12.
