Xiaomi has started rolling out Android 13-based MIUI 14 software update for the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone in India. The company took to its Twitter handle to confirm the release of the Android 13 update for the Xiaomi 12 Pro. The new update brings in all Android 13 features for the device, as well as the update includes new redesigned home screen icons, widgets, folders, and dual apps support. The new software update also adds the ability to remove objects from images and it includes redesigned home screen, apps, and widgets. Furthermore, the update also adds dual app support and the ability to take notes while reading with the Sidebar feature. It also offers improved system performance as well as better battery life. The update also optimizes foreground RAM usage by 11 percent and background RAM use by 6 percent, according to the company. The new software version also adds 6 new wallpapers along with 39 visual effects. To download the update on your Xiaomi 12 Pro unit, you can head over to the Settings app and tap About phone > MIUI version > Check for updates.

To recall, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 12 Pro smartphone in India in April 2022. The device features a 6.72-inch E5 AMOLED display that has 1440 x 3200 pixel resolution and a dynamic refresh rate between 1Hz and 120Hz. The display panel has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection, 1500 nits brightness, and HDR10+ support. Under the hood, the smartphone is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. The device packs up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. The handset boasts a triple-camera setup which consists of a 50MP main camera, 50MP telephoto lens, and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. On the front side, the handset is equipped with a 32MP selfie camera unit which has an f/2.45 aperture.
