Xiaomi 12 Pro debuted earlier this year in India. The company launched its 2022 flagship smartphone in India at a starting price of Rs 62,999 for the base 8GB + 256GB model. Xiaomi has been offering a few discounts, which bring the price down to about Rs 55,000. For the first time since the launch, the Xiaomi 12 Pro price in India drops below Rs 50,000. The company has officially offered a discount to customers in India as part of the Independence Day sale. The base model of the Xiaomi 12 Pro can be bought for Rs 49,999.
The Rs 13,000 discount also includes a Rs 2,000 instant discount offer for SBI credit cardholders After all the discount offers and deductions in place, the Xiaomi 12 Pro finds itself in the sub-Rs 50,000 category, recently refreshed by the OnePlus 10T and the iQOO 9T.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Discount Offer
The discount offers come after the launch of two premium smartphones launched by competitors OnePlus and iQOO. OnePlus launched the OnePlus 10T 5G in India with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The iQOO 9T also packs the same Qualcomm flagship chipset. Both these phones can be bought for Rs 49,999 for the base 8GB + 128GB option. With discounts on offer, the prices drop further up to Rs 44,999.
Xiaomi’s discount offer on the 12 Pro could heat up the sub-Rs 50,000 smartphone segment further. Although the 12 Pro packs a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, it is among the best-performing smartphones of the year. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC’s performance and efficiency is better though.
While all three phones pack best-in-class hardware, customers should pick a phone based on their preferences and use case. In the case of the Xiaomi 12 Pro, the phone packs three 50MP camera sensors, a 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display with a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, a 32MP front camera and a 4,600mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. It also supports 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The 12 Pro runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12.
The OnePlus 10T, except for the performance unit, might look slightly weaker in comparison. It has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone also has a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution. The 10T 5G has a triple-camera setup on the back with a 50MP main camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera and a 2MP macro camera. There is no telephoto camera here. The phone also features a 16MP front camera and a 4,800mAh battery with 150W fast charging support. It runs Oxygen OS 12.1 based on Android 12.
Lastly, the iQOO 9T. It has a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone sports a 6.78-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. There is a 4,700mAh battery with 120W fast charging support. The 9T 5G has a 50MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 12MP portrait-telephoto camera. It runs Android 12-based Funtouch OS 12 out of the box.
Clearly, the Xiaomi 12 Pro excels in almost all areas. It has a better display, more storage for the price, three 50MP camera sensors which shoot at different focal lengths and a fast charging unit that charges the phone within 20 minutes. Although the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC is marginally slower than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, it is more than capable to handle anything that you throw at it. That being said, software preferences vary and MIUI 13 is your choice, the Xiaomi 12 Pro is a no-brainer for the price.
