Xiaomi 12 Pro Tipped to Feature Under-Display Camera, Run on MIUI 13: Expected Specifications

Xiaomi is expected to host a new event on December 28 in China. At the rumoured event, the company is said to unveil the Xiaomi 12 series. One can expect the company to unveil at least two new premium smartphones, which include the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro. The company is yet to confirm the details of the launch. Meanwhile, the rumour mill has started working on getting out new leaks of the upcoming Xiaomi smartphones. The latest one revolves around the display features of the Pro model. According to a new report, the Xiaomi 12 Pro could feature an under-screen front camera.

Xiaomi 12 Pro under-screen camera

Xiaomi could launch the Xiaomi 12 Pro with its under-screen camera tech. The Mix 4 was the company’s first phone to feature the tech. Xiaomi might bring its Camera Under Panel (CUP) tech to the Xiaomi 12 series, according to the MIUI 13 source code. Spotted by XiaomiUI, the report states that the 12 Pro could be among the few Xiaomi smartphones to feature the CUP tech.

Teaser videos of the MIUI 13 reveal a phone with an all-screen design. The phone, according to XiaomiUI, is the 12 Pro. It further states that the device has a quad-curved display. However, the top and bottom bezel will be marginally thicker than the Mi 11 series. The report further states that the device might feature a piezoelectric speaker like the original Mi MIX since there is no physical earpiece in the device showcased in the video.

Other details of the device remain unknown. We can expect it to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 under the hood. The phone is also said to equip 120W fast charging support. As per reports, the device will come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display. More details of the device should surface in the coming days. Xiaomi has not confirmed any details regarding the launch date. It is advised to take the leaked details with a pinch of salt.
