Xiaomi 12 Ultra Design Renders Leaked; To Feature Leica-Tuned Quad-Camera Setup

Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Xiaomi 12 Ultra later this year. The 12 Ultra will be Xiaomi’s most premium smartphone offering. It will sit above the Xiaomi 12, 12 Pro and the 12X, which were launched globally earlier this year. There will also be a Xiaomi 12S sitting somewhere between the previously launched models. The exact launch date of the 12 Ultra remains unknown. While we wait for that, design renders of the Xiaomi 12 Ultra have leaked online.

The design renders uploaded by Zouton, in collaboration with OnLeaks, reveal the front and back of the upcoming Xiaomi ultra-premium flagship smartphone. Let’s take a look at the Xiaomi 12 Ultra design renders, specifications and other details.

Xiaomi 12 Ultra Design Renders

Xiaomi 12 Ultra will but in June or July 2022. Ahead of the official launch, the design renders of Xiaomi’s flagship phone have leaked online. According to the leaked design renders, the 12 Ultra will sport a huge camera island on the back. There is a circular camera module on the island that has multiple cutouts for the camera lenses and other sensors. The 12 Ultra has a quad-camera setup. There is also a Leica branding on the back, further confirming that the flagship’s camera system will be tuned in collaboration with the iconic camera maker.

According to rumours, the 12 Ultra will sport a 50MP main camera sensor and a 48MP ultrawide camera. The 50MP main camera could feature a Sony IMX989 sensor. It is also likely to feature two periscope camera sensors with different focal lengths.

At the front, there will be a hole-punch cutout at the top centre of the 6.6-inch display. The screen is curved and will be an AMOLED panel. It will support a 120Hz refresh rate at least. Also, there is no secondary display this time around.

Under the hood, the 12 Ultra will draw power from a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. It will launch with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. The phone could also pack a 5000 mAh battery and support up to 120W fast charging out of the box. 

The design renders further reveal that the phone’s power and volume buttons are located on the right edge. At the top edge is the cutout for the secondary speaker, whereas the bottom edge houses the primary speaker, the USB Type-C port and the SIM tray.
