Google is all set to unveil the Android 13 later this evening at Google I/O 2022. The company is expected to reveal the features and changes coming to Android with the latest version. Ahead of the announcement, the Google Pixel 6 Pro, running Android 13, was spotted on the Geekbench database just today. Looks like Xiaomi users won’t have to wait for long to get Android 13 on their devices as the brand has announced the Android 13 Developer preview program for some of its latest devices.
Ahead of the Google I/O event, Xiaomi took it to the Xiaomi Community forum to make a formal announcement for the same and shared a list of devices eligible for Android 13 Developer Preview Program. Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 5 Android 13 Developer Preview Program Announced!
Xiaomi has announced Android 13 developer preview program for some of its latest devices including the Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12 Pro, and the Xiaomi Pad 5. Out of these devices, the Xiaomi 12 Pro and the Xiaomi Pad 5 are available in the Indian market. The company hasn’t revealed when the Developer Preview firmware will be available for download. However, the company has shared the procedure to flash Android 13 Developer Preview firmware for the eligible devices.
Xiaomi says that users must use the Fastboot flash method for installing the Android 13 Developer Preview firmware on their devices, once available. Also, opt out of the Android 13 Developer Preview program and downgrade to Android 12, users must rely on the Fastboot Flash method only.
To enter into the fastboot mode, users need to turn off the device and then press the volume down button and the power button together for 4-5 seconds. The brand also advises users to take a backup of their data before proceeding with the installation.
