The Xiaomi 12 Pro flagship smartphone from Xiaomi was launched towards the end of 2021 in China and the same phone made its global debut back in March 2022. In April, the phone was launched in India as well. Now, it looks like the company is working on a successor to the device, which is expected to bring some incremental upgrades to the device.

According to Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via MyDrivers), who is a well-known tipster on the Chinese social media platform, Xiaomi is all set to launch the follow up to the Xiaomi 12 Pro in the second half of the year and the device is likely to be called Xiaomi 12S Pro. He has also shared some of the expected specifications of the device as well.

Xiaomi 12S Pro Specifications Leaked

According to the leakster, the Xiaomi 12S Pro will come with an upgraded Snapdragon flagship chipset. The 12S Pro is expected to be powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus SoC, which is tipped to be announced in China at the May 20th Qualcomm event. The new chipset will be based on TSMC’s 4nm process.

In the visual department, the Xiaomi 12S Pro will come with a 2K LTPO 2.0 micro curve screen, the same as the 12 Pro. The screen refresh rate will be 120Hz as well. In the camera department as well, the phone is expected to feature a 50MP triple camera system. Xiaomi 12 Pro

Apart from that, the post on Weibo from Digital Chat Station also says there will be a small screen flagship phone with Full HD+ resolution and a very friendly size. This could mean that the company is also planning to launch a follow-up to the Xiaomi 12 or 12X, if not both. The Xiaomi 12 and 12X, both come with a smaller 6.28-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate. While the vanilla Xiaomi 12 is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, the 12X is powered by Snapdragon 870 chipset.
