Xiaomi has unveiled the 12S series in China. The company has unveiled three premium Android smartphones in the 12S series. The vanilla 12S sits at the bottom of the new flagship Android offerings from Xiaomi. The 12S Pro, on the other hand, is the new flagship middle-child. It launches as a successor of the 12 Pro, which was launched earlier this year in India.
The 12S and 12S Pro are likely to launch soon in India. The company has not confirmed any details about the India launch date at the moment. Let’s take a look at the Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro price, specifications and other details.
Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro: Price
Xiaomi has launched the 12S series in China. The company has launched its devices with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. The 12S comes in three storage options – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB. It is priced at CNY 3,999 (roughly Rs 47,100). The other three variants are priced at CNY 4299(roughly Rs 50,700), CNY 4699(roughly Rs Rs 55,400) and CNY 5199 (roughly Rs 61,300).
The 12S Pro, on the other hand, comes in four storage options – 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. The models are priced at CNY 4699 (roughly Rs 55400), CNY 4999 (roughly Rs 58,900), CNY 5399 (roughly Rs 63,600) and CNY 5899 (roughly Rs 69,500).
Both devices come in Black, Purple, Green and White colours.
Xiaomi 12S, 12S Pro: Specifications
Starting with the 12S, the vanilla model sports a compact 6.28-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display. It has a 120Hz refresh rate support. The phone also comes with Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos support along with HDR10+ certification. It also has a peak brightness of 1100 nits.
The phone has a 4500 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wired charging. It runs Android 12-based MIUI 13 out of the box. The phone has dual speakers and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
On the back, the phone has a 50MP Sony IMX707 main camera. It comes with a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP tele-macro camera sensor.
The 12S Pro sports a 6.73-inch QHD+, E5 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support. The 10-bit display offers 1500 nits of peak brightness, a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus and an in-display fingerprint scanner.
The 12S Pro has Leica-tuned triple-cameras on the back. It has a 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultrawide and a 50MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom. The device also features a 32MP front camera. The device packs a 4600 mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging and 50W wireless charging.
Both phones feature a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC under the hood. They come with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.
Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity 9000+ Edition
Xiaomi also refreshed the 12 Pro with a special Dimensity 9000+ SoC variant. The phone sports a 6.73-inch AMOLED display and comes with the same 50MP triple-camera setup as the 12S. It packs a 5160 mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. The Xiaomi 12 Pro Dimensity 9000+ SoC variant is priced at CNY 3999 (roughly Rs 47,100) for the base 8GB + 128GB variant. The 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at CNY 4499 (roughly Rs 53,000).
