Xiaomi 13 series launch date is yet to be confirmed. The Chinese smartphone giant postponed the launch of its new flagship series, which was originally slated to take place on December 1. Xiaomi is likely to debut the phones in China in December 2022. While we wait for the launch details, Xiaomi has confirmed some key details about the 13 series. The upcoming lineup will include two premium smartphones. These will be called the Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 13 Pro. The company has also confirmed some more details but it is the rumour mill that has the lead when it comes to revealing the spec sheet first — unofficially, of course.
Adding to the latest leaks is a new one by tipster Panda. The tipster took to Weibo (via) to reveal the dimensions and weight of the upcoming Xiaomi 13 series. Tipster Panda claims that the Xiaomi 13 will sport a flat 6.36-inch Full HD+ E6 OLED display. It will launch with two different types of rear panel materials. The leather back variant will measure 152.8×71.5×8.1mm and weigh about 185 grams. There will be another variant with a glass back, which will measure 152.8×71.5×7.98mm and weigh 189 grams.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, will come with a 6.73-inch 2K Samsung E6 curved OLED display. It will come in ceramic and plain leather versions. The latter will be much lighter at 210 grams and measure 163*74.6*8.7mm. The ceramic version will weigh 229 grams and measure 163*74.6*8.38mm.
Other details of the Xiaomi 13 series have been leaked or confirmed. Here’s everything that is known so far.
Xiaomi 13 Series: Confirmed and Rumoured Details
The Xiaomi 13 Pro is confirmed to feature a 50MP Sony IMX989 1-inch sensor. It, along with the vanilla 13, is confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The 13 Pro is also confirmed to sport a curved display.
Other leaked details reveal pretty much everything about the two phones. The 13 Pro, for starters, will get a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide camera and a 50MP Samsung JN1 telephoto sensor. Xiaomi has confirmed that the device will get a 75mm Leica telephoto lens.
The vanilla model will also sport a triple-camera setup with a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto camera and a 13MP ultrawide camera. For selfies, both phones will feature a 32MP front camera. They will also share the same software, which is MIUI 14 based on Android 13.
Under the hood, there will be a 4820mAh battery in the Pro model. It will support 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging. The standard model will get a 4500mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging.
The 13 series is rumoured to launch in Green, Ceramic Black and Ceramic White colour options. There is also a Mountain Blue colour variant, which is said to come with a leather back. Both phones will launch with four storage options — 8GB + 128GB, 8GB + 256GB, 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. Except for the base models, the devices will support UFS 4.0 storage and LPDDR5X RAM.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro was spotted on the BIS website, which suggests an imminent launch in India of the phone following its debut in China.
