The wait for the new Xiaomi 13 series will be a bit longer than expected. According to the latest announcement, the launch event has been postponed. “We are sorry to inform you that the launch of the new Mi 13 series will be postponed. We will notify you as soon as the new release date is confirmed. Thank you for your understanding and support,” Xiaomi posted on Weibo. The Xiaomi 13 series could debut later in December. Typically, the brand launches its flagship phones by the end of December. This time around, things were about to be slightly different but the postponement of the launch means that the new Xiaomi flagship phones could debut a bit later.

It will be accompanied by a 75mm Leica telephoto sensor. The 13 Pro is rumoured to feature two 50MP Samsung JN1 sensors for the telephoto and ultrawide cameras along with the 50MP 1-inch sensor. While the vanilla model will sport a flat display, the 13 Pro’s screen is slightly curved. Both phones will offer up to 1900 nits of peak brightness and sport a hole-punch cutout at the top centre.

The devices are confirmed to feature a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. They are also confirmed to boot MIUI 14 out of the box.
