Xiaomi 13 Series: Specifications and Features
Xiaomi, via the latest launch teasers, revealed that the Xiaomi 13 series will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor which will come equipped with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. To those unaware, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was announced a couple of weeks back and is manufactured on a 4nm process. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 makes use of an Adreno 740 GPU and a Kryo Prime core (clocked at 3.2GHz) that is based on the Cortex X3 core.
Xiaomi has also compared the performance of the Xiaomi13 series with the Apple iPhone 14 series. The company says that Xiaomi 13 series multi-core performance is 37% better compared to A16 Bionic which powers the latest Apple iPhones. The company also claims that the Xiaomi 13 series GPU performance is 42% better when compared with A16 Bionic.
Xiaomi, via another launch teaser, revealed that the Xiaomi 13 Pro will come equipped with a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor. The brand had earlier used the same sensor on the Xiaomi 12S Ultra. Xiaomi has also confirmed that all Xiaomi 13 series smartphones will feature a 75mm telephoto lens with f/2.0 aperture and Leica imaging technology. The company has also confirmed that Xiaomi 13 series devices will feature an IP68 rating.
Ahead of the launch, a new leak has also surfaced on the web which reveals some of the key specifications of the Xiaomi 13 duo. Going by the leak, the Xiaomi 13 will feature a 120Hz flat display panel with Full HD+ resolution and will measure 6.36 inches in size. Whereas, the Pro variant is tipped to make use of a 6.73-inch curved display with a 120Hz refresh rate display and a 2K resolution. The company is said to use E6 AMOLED display on Xiaomi 13 series device which will support 1900nits peak brightness.
The Xiaomi 13 will reportedly be equipped with a 50MP Sony IMX800 primary shooter, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Whereas, the Xiaomi 13 Pro might rely on a 50MP triple-rear camera setup including a 50MP Sony IMX989 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a Samsung JN1 sensor, and a 50MP telephoto camera with a Samsung JN1 sensor.
The Xiaomi 13 is said to be backed by a 4,500mAh battery and 67W fast charging support. The Pro variant, on the other hand, might come equipped with a 4820mAh battery unit and 120W fast charging support. The Xiaomi 13 series smartphone are tipped to feature 50W wireless charging and 10W reverse wireless charging support.
